🥩 Experience Argentina 🇦🇷

Argentina is a country of bold flavors, rich traditions, and deep culinary roots. Known for its vibrant culture of gathering around the table, food is more than sustenance here—it’s a celebration of life and community. From the smoky allure of asado (Argentinian barbecue) to the soothing ritual of sipping yerba mate, Argentinian cuisine reflects the passion and heart of its people.

One of the key differences between Argentinian and American food culture is how meals are savored. Argentinians often take their time, sharing stories over long lunches or late-night dinners. Meat, especially beef, is central to the cuisine, thanks to the country’s fertile pampas, which produce some of the world’s finest cattle. Combine that with a love for bold spices, unique condiments, and artisan techniques, and you’ve got a culinary experience unlike any other.

Argentinian Products You’ll Love at Ava’s

  • Yerba Mate Hierbas Serranas CBSé & Yerba Mate Playadito
Yerba mate is a traditional Argentinian drink made from the dried leaves of the yerba mate plant, steeped in hot water to create a tea-like infusion. It’s packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and a gentle caffeine kick, often shared in a communal circle using a hollowed-out gourd and a metal straw called a bombilla. The CBSé Hierbas Serranas offers a refreshing twist with a blend of mountain herbs, creating a minty, aromatic infusion perfect for newcomers. Meanwhile, Playadito is a classic, smooth yerba mate, beloved by seasoned drinkers for its earthy, rich flavor. Whether sipping solo or hosting a mate circle, these blends bring a piece of Argentinian tradition to your day.
  • Dos Anclas Sal Gruesa & Sal Parrillera
No Argentinian asado is complete without the perfect seasoning, and Dos Anclas Sal Gruesa is the go-to coarse salt for grilling. Its texture allows for even coverage and creates that signature crust on meats. The Sal Parrillera is specifically crafted for barbecue, adding depth and enhancing the natural flavors of beef, chicken, or pork. Bring these salts to your next cookout, and you’ll feel like a true asador (grill master).
  • San Ignacio Dulce de Leche
If there’s one dessert staple every Argentinian household has, it’s dulce de leche. This creamy caramel spread is made from milk and sugar, cooked slowly to achieve a rich, velvety texture. San Ignacio’s dulce de leche is a premium option, perfect for spreading on toast, drizzling over ice cream, or baking into alfajores (Argentinian sandwich cookies). Its deep caramel flavor is irresistible and guaranteed to become your new favorite treat.

Whether you’re firing up the grill, exploring the tradition of yerba mate, or indulging in the sweet decadence of dulce de leche, Ava’s has everything you need to bring the flavors of Argentina to your table. But it’s not just about the food—it’s about the experience. Take a cue from Argentinian culture and savor your meals slowly, surrounded by loved ones, sharing stories, and creating memories. Stop by and explore these unique items, and let’s bring a little more Argentinian warmth and tradition to your table this week. 🇦🇷✨

💦 Cheers to Flavor Without the Buzz! 🍻

Let’s be real—non-alcoholic beer used to have all the charm of a flat soda and the flavor profile of cardboard. But friends, those dark days are over. If you haven’t given NA beer a shot recently, you’re in for a surprise. Thanks to some serious wizardry in the brewing world, today’s non-alcoholic beers actually taste like, well, beer. Bold, refreshing, and full of flavor—these aren’t just for Dry January anymore. Whether you’re skipping the booze or just looking for a tasty alternative, Ava’s has a lineup that’ll make you rethink everything you thought you knew about NA beer.

  • Weihenstephaner Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage
From the world’s oldest brewery (no joke—they’ve been at it since 1040 AD!) comes a non-alcoholic malt beverage that’s rich, smooth, and just plain classy. Weihenstephaner balances malty sweetness with a crisp finish, proving you don’t need alcohol to keep things interesting. It’s the beer equivalent of that friend who’s both cultured and fun at parties.
  • Best Day Brewing
Want craft beer flavor without the fuzzy aftermath? Best Day Brewing has you covered. Their West Coast IPA bursts with citrus and pine, the Kolsch-style is crisp and refreshing, and the Hazy IPA delivers juicy tropical goodness. Think of these as your “I’ve still got errands to run” beers—or as a sneaky way to impress your craft beer-loving friends who won’t even notice there’s no alcohol.
  • Estrella Galicia 0.0% Beer
Spain’s Estrella Galicia 0.0% proves that sophistication doesn’t have to come with a buzz. This premium alcohol-free beer boasts a smooth, balanced taste with just the right amount of bitterness. Pair it with tapas, or just drink it while pretending you’re on a sunny terrace in Madrid. It’s indulgence without the hangover—because who has time for that anymore?

Non-alcoholic beer isn’t just “not bad” anymore—it’s downright delicious. And with these stellar options, you can skip the alcohol and keep all the fun. So why not swing by Ava’s, pick up a six-pack, and enjoy a beer that actually tastes like beer? Trust us, this is the best decision you’ll make all week—unless you also grab some snacks. 😉 🍺✨

🥚 Eggs are Back! (But why so expensive??)

Great news, neighbors—Ava’s Market has plenty of eggs back in stock! Not just any eggs, either—our shelves are filled with local, pasture-raised, organic beauties. Whether you’re whipping up a batch of pancakes, baking your favorite cake, or crafting the perfect omelet, these eggs are worth cracking into.

If you’ve noticed that your wallet feels a little lighter after buying eggs, you’re not alone—and unfortunately, there’s a good reason for it. The recent outbreak of bird flu has hit the U.S. hard, leading to the loss of tens of millions of egg-laying chickens. With fewer hens, the supply of eggs has taken a serious nosedive, causing prices to skyrocket. It’s a tough time for farmers and consumers alike, but we’re all in this together. If you want to know more, check out this article: Over 20 Million US Chickens Killed By Bird Flu.

Pasture-raised eggs come from hens that roam freely outdoors, pecking at grass and bugs, resulting in yolks that are richer in color and flavor. You’ll notice a deep golden hue, a creamier texture, and a flavor that elevates every dish. Organic certification ensures they’re free from pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics—better for the hens, the environment, and you!
